Giclée Print Paper Types
Choosing the right paper
Choosing the right type of paper for your giclée printing can make a big difference in the final outcome. Giclée papers come in a variety of textures, weights, and finishes, each with its own unique properties that are suitable for the giclée printing process.
When selecting a paper for giclée printing, consider the type of image you will be printing. For example, fine art reproductions may require heavier weight paper to give it a more substantial feel, while photographs may look better on glossy paper that enhances the colours.
Another factor to consider is the print’s intended use. If the print will be framed and displayed, paper with a high colour gamut and a fine texture may be best. If the print will be handled frequently, a more durable paper with a matte finish may be a better choice.
