When Steven J Ho decided to come by and speak with us one rainy summer day, we had no idea we were about to help bring one of the most joyful bodies of work we have seen this year onto paper. Steven’s collection opened on 18 September as part of Exhibit Here’s Art Now Fair 2026 in London, and we could not be prouder to have played a small part in it.
Steven is a UK based digital illustrator with a real gift for storytelling. His signature series, the Mundane Verse, takes the icons we all grew up with and drops them into wonderfully ordinary situations. A flaming skull fronts a monster rock band. Giant heroes and kaiju trade dunks on a floodlit basketball court. A fantasy tavern fills up with a rowdy cast of familiar faces. A survival bunker is stocked to the rafters for the end of the world. An emporium of endless clocks turns out to be the perfect place to grab a present with no time to spare. It is pop culture reimagined with warmth, wit and an incredible eye for detail, and every piece rewards a second and third look.
Steven brought five pieces to the fair, and we produced them two ways. Prepper’s Delight, Call To Arms: Bar & Grill and Last Minute Present were printed on baryta, a heavyweight fine art paper with a subtle sheen and deep, rich blacks that give the colours real punch, then framed and ready to hang.
Calcified and The Big Leagues were produced as giclée canvases and float framed, so each piece sits just proud of its frame with a clean shadow line around the edge and no glass between you and the art.
Digital work is beautiful on a screen, but getting it to sing as a physical print is an art in itself. The colours have to stay true, the fine linework has to hold its clarity, and the mood of each scene has to survive the journey from pixels to paper. That is exactly the kind of work our giclée printing was made for, and seeing all five framed and hung together at the fair was a genuine highlight.
The prints are beautiful and they honestly capture the intended spirit of the work through the colours and the clarity. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more accurate representations of digital work as prints.
